TANAH JAMBU, Thursday 13 July 2023 – The Vice Chancellor of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Dr Hazri bin Haji Kifle conducted a working visit to the Defence Academy RBAF (DA RBAF) today. Joining the delegation were the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the Director of Institute of Policy Studies and the Director for the Centre of Life-Long Learning. 
Present to greet the UBD delegation was Colonel Pg Sharifuddin bin Pg Hj Yusof, the Commandant of DA RBAF. Also present were the DA Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor. The visit started off with a group photo and a brief Courtesy Call by the Vice Chancellor on the Commandant of DA RBAF. The program then commenced with a briefing on the proposed concept of the Faculty of Military Studies followed by a discussion. The Vice Chancellor was then invited to sign a commemorative parchment. The Commandant then presented the Vice Chancellor with a commemorative parchment, before the program concluded with a lunch hosted by the Commandant. Among the subject of discussion was the planned development of the Professional Military Education and the Concept of Life-Long Learning for RBAF officers. As part of their academic progression, officers will have the opportunity to undergo a Bachelor’s and Postgraduate Degree which may be structured along with their career development courses such as Intermediate Staff Course and Command and Staff Course.
The visit was also a continuation of engagement between the two institutions on existing and upcoming collaborations, mainly towards developing the academic capacity, accreditation and qualification of DA RBAF graduates. UBD is the premier higher learning institute in Negara Brunei Darussalam, which centers its innovation and research on national relevance. As part of this intent, the University is actively partnering with government ministries and relevant agencies, especially in designing and customizing academic programs to cater for their respective academic development.
