TANAH JAMBU, Sunday, 15 September 2024 – The Defense Academy, Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) recently organized a religious event,
Majlis Gema Marhaban Dalam Dikir Maulud Nabi Muhammad SAW, in commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH)
Mawlid. This gathering was held on the 12th night of Rabiulawal 1446H at Surau Asy-Syuhada, DA RBAF. In attendance were Colonel Pengiran Sharifuddin bin Pengiran Haji Yusof, the Commandant and Lieutenant Colonel Amirul Adly bin Haji Ali, the Deputy Commandant of DA RBAF. The event was also attended by Officers, Staff, and Officer Cadets from Intake 23.
The event commenced with a mass
Maghrib prayer, followed by the recitation of
Sayyidul Istigfar and
Al-Fatihah. A reading from the
Sirah Nabawiyah, recounting the life of the Prophet, added a reflective element to the night. The gathering then moved on to various
Dikir including
As-Salamualaika,
Khairuman,
Bisyahrin, and
Selawat Tafrijiyyah, all of which praise the Prophet and invoke blessings upon him. After the
Isya prayer, the recitations continued with
Selawat Badriyah,
Dikir Daba'ie,
Dikir Marhaban, and ended with a
Doa Dikir and the recital of
Doa Peliharakan Sultan and Negara Brunei Darussalam, asking for divine protection for the Sultan and the nation.
This event reflects the deep reverence the Bruneian military and the nation as a whole have for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The recitation of
selawat (praises and blessings) on the Prophet not only commemorates his
Mawlid but also strengthens spiritual devotion. The program not only provided a moment for reflection on the Prophet's life but also served as an occasion to foster unity and spirituality among military personnel, culminating in prayers for the prosperity of the Sultan and the nation.
