CLOSING CEREMONY OF INTERMEDIATE STAFF COURSE 24/2024

TANAH JAMBU, Thursday, 28 November 2024 – A total of 38 officers has successfully completed the Intermediate Staff Course (ISC 24/2024) at the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (DA RBAF) today. The course was attended by 31 RBAF officers, one officer from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) and six international military officers from People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, the Republic of Singapore, Kingdom of Thailand and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Present as Guest of Honour was Yang Mulia Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan, Commander RBAF. Also present were Service Commander, Acting Service Commanders, Acting Joint Force Commander RBAF, representative from the Royal Brunei Police Force, Military Directors, Defence Attaches and Defence Advisers in Brunei Darussalam and RBAF senior officers.

The Guest of Honour presented the ISC participants with their certificates of course completion and excellence awards. Captain Clarence Ong Jun Xiang from Republic of Singapore Navy received the Overall Best Student Award and Best Service Paper Award, while 1073 Lieutenant Haji Norfaizul bin Haji Morni from the Royal Brunei Navy  won the Best Commander RBAF’s Paper Award.

The 14-week course is aimed to prepare officers at the intermediate to middle management level to become credible and competent staff officers in both single-service and joint environments. Additionally, the course is designed to develop and improve officer’s knowledge, communication skills, leadership, management, professionalism and teamwork.
